10 Times Actors Broke Character In TV Shows

8. RJ Mitte - Breaking Bad

Here's a sneaky one in only the fifth ever episode of Breaking Bad, "Gray Matter."

When Walt's (Bryan Cranston) wife Skyler (Anna Gunn) holds an intervention to try and convince Walt to undergo cancer treatment, keep your eye on Walt Jr. (RJ Mitte) on the couch.

As Walt enters the room, Hank (Dean Norris) opens up a platter of food and takes a bite - a moment that's meant to be mildly amusing to the audience but not to Walt's family.

All the same, Walt Jr. can be seen laughing in the background, while pulling a John Krasinski and trying to cover his big grin by placing a hand over his face.

Though you can generously argue that Walt Jr. laughing at his uncle's ill-timed snacking wasn't completely out of step for him, given that he spends the entire rest of the scene totally stone-faced, it was clearly a case of Mitte being unable to stifle a genuine, honest-to-God laugh.
