10 Times Doctor Who Daleks Appeared Where You'd Least Expect Them

9. The Daleks Take a Beach Holiday

After the events of the past two years, many holidaymakers are only now getting reacquainted with the idea of foreign holidays. One troupe of Daleks did so by travelling from Skaro to Weston-Super-Mare last summer, having tested negative for the Movellan virus. The video of the four Daleks having a day by the seaside was released by BBC Bristol.

The Daleks sang songs, bought ice cream, glided up and down the promenade and got into disagreements with their fellow holidaymakers. Thankfully, nobody was killed. The Dalek Invasion of Weston-Super-Mare was led by Dalek Draco, built by local Doctor Who fan Ian McTeague. Ian and his Dalek regularly visit events and conventions to raise money for both Macmillan Cancer Support and Help For Heroes.

Daleks are a regular feature on Weston-Super-Mare's seafront, having relaunched the Grand Pier way back in 2008 and making various appearances at the landmark's Sci-Fi Weekender. The promotion for the 2019 event promised the option of having fish and chips with a Dalek. Who could resist?
