7. When He Wanted To Zinc Homer's Sniffer
Homer and
Bart’s relationship is one heck of a dysfunctional one, with the pair sharing
as many loving, funny moments as they do tragic, bitter ones. One example of
the latter occurs in Season 5’s “Boy Scoutz N the Hood,” when Bart mistakenly
joins the junior campers while on a sugar rush from one of Apu’s super strong
Squishees.
Who’s the leader of the junior campers? Who else but Ned Flanders. Bart goes along with the group when Ned teaches him neat things like trapping animals (Bart practises on Homer with slices of pie as bait), while Homer remains snarky throughout.
Despite the hostility between them, the pair attend the group’s father-son rafting trip. Homer is desperate not to have to share a boat with Flanders, which is of course exactly what ends up happening.
How long does it take for Homer to hate the whole experience? About as long as it takes Ned to say, “Well, Homer, looks like we’re boat buddies, huh? Want me to zinc your sniffer?”
The whole sniffer-zincing thing has gone on to become another priceless Flanders meme.
