10 Times Star Trek Was So Bad It Was Good

Space hippies. Oh yes, authentic space hippies. It’s colourful, cloying and it's creepy. It’s terrible and it's memorable.

The space hippies are determined to find Eden and are convinced that they know where it is. They’re so desperate to get there they steal a shuttle and make a dash for it. Unfortunately for them, the Enterprise crew are in no mood for joyriders and put a swift stop to their shenanigans.

Once aboard the Enterprise, the hippies quickly put a band together, recruiting Spock on the Vulcan lute. While everyone is distracted by the sweet, sweet music, the hippies take over the ship and take it to Eden. Eden looks pretty cool; unfortunately, every square inch of it is secreting poisonous acid.

It couldn’t have been more of its time. It also couldn’t have been more on the nose.

Hippies following a charismatic leader, seeking a paradise that is fuelled by acid. There’s actually some depth to the analysis but the delivery is silly, the characters are annoying, and the social commentary seems at best lost in the plot and at worse unintentional. It’s unforgettable though.

Bowen Revill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
