8. Unexpected - Enterprise
Commander Tucker visits an alien ship to help do a bit of ‘engineering’. He shags the first alien female he sees and she gets him pregnant. By the time he finds out, the alien ship is long gone. In a series as frequently joyless as Enterprise, this bit of silliness is a breath of fresh air.
It’s fun to see a man burdened with the consequences of a one night stand. The gender role reversal doesn’t last long as the crew enthusiastically abandon their aimless wandering and, relieved to have something to do, track down the alien ship so they can dump the offspring on the mother and restore the patriarchal status quo.
Commander Tucker wasn’t the first sci-fi man to end up in the family way. Lister, Red Dwarf, Anyone? He ended up with twins (he dumped them on the mother too). If you’re not careful it could happen to you!
