10 Times Star Trek Was So Bad It Was Good

5. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

What’s better than aliens? God? How about both? That’s Star Trek V.

The odd-numbered Star Trek movies hold a curse. While it’s only a superstition, there’s not much evidence against it. Generally, the even-numbered entries outshine the odd. The story in Star Trek V is actually similar to The Way to Eden. Some hippy types follow a flawed leader on a quest to find Eden and in this case - God. It doesn’t work out, but we all learn a valuable lesson, which we quickly forget.

This is an example of the crew just having a great time. It’s terrific to see the strong and natural rapport between the actors on screen, there are plenty of intentionally comedic moments that land really well and the silly central story just adds to the fun of the whole thing. ‘What does God want with a starship?’ Who cares, let’s just have fun.

Bowen Revill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
