10 Times The Simpsons Blew It

7. Not Doing A Second Movie (Yet)

The Simpsons is over. It's washed up. It jumped a toothy fish in a large tank like that one time on Happy Days that we read about on the internet. Yeah, you know what? The Simpsons Movie was actually the start of a creative turnaround for the series. From that point (or at least the point where the show went hi-def, not that format should matter to story), the scripts have been noticeably better. The Simpsons are suddenly funny again. For whatever reason the movie seems to have been a catalyst for that. Come on, who hasn't sung a little "Spider Pig" to themselves (if you've sung it to others, well, points for you, but we're not that brave)? From Homer's inability to preform the simplest roof repair to his choice to write his name on his silo full of pig poop, the Simpsons movie had plenty of memorable moments, and was worth the wait (a movie had been considered for years). In fact, the only way the show really blew the big screen version was by not having a sequel out by now. The movie, after all, came out in 2007.
