10 Times The Simpsons PREDICTED Future Technology

3. Robot Librarians

Back to Lisa's Wedding again for the third and final time in this list. Although this may be the last technological prediction taken from this episode, it is not the last we will hear from the three eyed raven/writer, Greg Daniels.

As mentioned previously, this episode focuses around Lisa and her fiancé, Hugh. At first, the characters can't stand each other but they soon form a loving bond much to the confusion of the library's robotic librarian. After Lisa implies that robots can't feel or understand emotions, it breaks down in tears causing its face to melt off and head to blow up.

In reality, Singaporian robotic creation AuRoSS (autonomous robotic shelf scanning) does exactly what it says on the tin. Much more than a machine that just goes around shushing people for being too loud, AurRoSS is also programmed to find missing books and volumes that have been falsely filed. If you happen to come across this robotic book worm, don't point out its lack of emotion unless you want to be picking metallic debris from out of your teeth all semester.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
