Just remember that this was for charity, OK? Actors have been crossing over from the realms of Doctor Who to EastEnders, and vice versa, for years now but in 1993 the two worlds literally collided when they joined forces for a special - *ahem* - sketch for Children in Need. You knew this would be included on the list at some point and a crossover between two of the BBC's flagship franchises was bound to happen eventually, so let's just be thankful that it was for such a good cause, eh? To cut a long story short (because the less you know about it, the better!), the wicked Rani returned and her latest devilish scheme involved trapping all of the Doctors - well, five of them, at least - in a 20 year time loop which took them to one of the most dangerous and universally feared destinations known to man... Walford. What happened next was something that even the most imaginative of Doctor Who fans wouldn't have been able to imagine in their most dizziest of daydreams as the inhabitants of Albert Square (including soap icons Letitia Dean, Pam St. Clement, Adam Woodyatt, Steve McFadden and Ross Kemp as Sharon, Pat, Ian, Phil and Grant) joined forces with Time Lords three through to seven, and their respective companions, to save mankind from a plethora of formidable foes. Once again, it was for charity. It's very important that you don't forget it was for charity. It's also worth bearing in mind that Doctor Who had been off air for four years at this point, too, after being controversially axed in 1989. As such, fans were desperate to get their greedy mitts on anything that came their way and as such, Dimensions in Time (yes, it even has a title!) is even considered to be part of the show's canon by certain corners of its fandom. The mind boggles. In the BBC's defence, though, it was for charity, which is a fact that just cannot be stressed enough... What did you think of this list? Are there any other times the worlds of Doctor Who and EastEnders collided? Let us know in the comments section below. Happy 30th anniversary, EastEnders! It's not quite 50, but you'll get there one day...
