10 Times TV Heroes Became The Bad Guy In Their Own Show

2. Daenerys Targaryen - Game Of Thrones

One of the better stories in the entire Game of Thrones series, features Daenerys "Dany" Targaryen ascending from slave to conqueror riding atop a great fire-breathing dragon.

Earlier seasons showed Dany exhibiting signs of a secret villain; her desire to sit on the Iron Throne combined with zero tolerance for anyone who opposed her, planted the seeds that in a world with Cersei Lannister and White Walkers, Dany might be just as bad.

This idea is put away in the show's later seasons as Dany joins the armies of the North to fight the White Walkers, but in the series' penultimate episode, after attacking Kings Landing to retake her throne, Dany's entire character shifts back to malicious tyrant and she burns the Westeros Capital to an unrecognizable crisp.

The entire sequence in Season Eight Episode Five's "The Bells" is a visual effects masterpiece that is only upset with the knowledge that the people Dany is burning were the very people she sought to save from Cersei.

Dany's cruel nature in the past had been attributed to her finding some justice and means, but in this rushed and poorly written moment we just see the Mother of Dragons doing something unforgivable.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
