10 Times TV Shows Made Up Incredible Movie Ideas

8. Patrick Stewart In: I've Seen Everything (Extras)

Threat Level Midnight
BBC

The most memorable episode of Extras features Patrick Stewart in Season 1 Episode 6, when Ricky Gervais' character tries to hand him a script to pass on to his production company. Stewart admires his hustle and tells him that he himself is working on something of his own and gives Gervais a little preview.

Stewart starts off by humouring the idea of someone being able to possess Professor X's powers in real life. Sounds interesting, so what would this person do in the real world? Fight off terrorism? Win the lottery and donate millions to the poor?

Nope.

He just wants the power to make people's clothes fall off and no, the idea isn't for a comedy film. There is no story to the film: it just centers around him getting up to no good and people's clothes start falling off when they try to stop him.

Although the film would be horrible to watch in reality, the way Stewart delivers the synopsis thinking it's a great idea makes the film idea last long in the memory. Let's hope no Hollywood executive decides to make it so.
