A really excellent mate can elevate you and help you be the best you can be and that was certainly the case for Leslie's best friend, Ann Perkins (raise your hand if you read that name in a Chris Traeger voice). Leslie and Ann meet in the first season of Parks and bond over a shared desire to fill in the pit behind Ann's house. Rashida Jones is a lovely actress but Ann never becomes a particularly interesting character. However, she works as a brilliant, grounded foil to Leslie and their friendship makes her much more interesting than she otherwise would be. Whenever she seems to be getting off track or losing faith in herself, Leslie is there to lift her up. One of Leslie's motivational tactics is to give Ann florid, oddly-specific compliments, such as "beautiful unicorn nurse", "beautiful tropical fish- youre smart as a whip and youre cool under pressure" and, most touchingly, "your ambiguous ethnic blend perfectly represents the dream of the American melting pot". Awwww.
Brydie is an Australian writer and performer living in London and she complains exactly the same amount about the weather as every other Australian living in London. Yes, that is her natural lip colour, no, she will not be taking any further questions at this time.
