10 Tiny Details In Futurama You Definitely Missed

1. Dr. Zoidberg's Age

There is quite a range of ages when you look at the employees of Planet Express, from Bender, a 4 year old robot, through the typical human/mutant adults, right up to the 160+ year old Hubert Farnsworth. However, the Professor is not the oldest member of his team.

He certainly doesn’t look it, and it is never said aloud or really referenced in any memorable way, but Dr. John Zoidberg is actually over 800 years old. He looks good for it, but maybe this is just what the Decapodians live to if they don’t take part in the giant orgy on their home planet?

In ‘A Fishful of Dollars’, Fry spends a ludicrous amount of money on the last can of anchovies in existence. The little fish died out in the 2200s according to the Professor, just shortly after Zoidberg’s people came to Earth. So, no anchovies on Earth for 800 years, and yet Zoidberg recounted the events of eating them to extinction like he was there.

He knew and loved the taste, and recognised the stench, so the only possible explanation is that Zoidberg was on Earth in the 2200s when the anchovies went extinct, 800 years prior to sharing a pizza with his co-workers.
