10 Treehouse Of Horror Segments The Simpsons Should Produce
2. The Exorcist
Reverend Lovejoy would take centre stage in a parody of The Exorcist that is long overdue. The Exorcist remains one of the most iconic horror films of all time, and though it wasn't the first film about an exorcism, the 1973 film gave birth to the genre as we know it. With Bart's character so ripe for the role of the possessed, he seems a shoe-in, but you could always go against expectations here and have Lisa take on the Regan role, the possessed daughter of a actress/single mom at the end of her rope. She brings in the church, turning to Reverend Lovejoy to cleanse her child when medical science (in the form of Dr. Hibbert) isn't able to find anything out of the ordinary. Have a widowed Marge in this one (Homer can make a guest appearance from beyond the grave), make sure to include head spinning, Ouija boards, and green projectile vomit, and you're well on your way to a Treehouse of Horror classic.
