10 Treehouse Of Horror Segments The Simpsons Should Produce

1. The Alien Franchise

Kang and Kodos filling in for Xenomorphs. Marge Simpson as Ellen Ripley. Snowball III (or whatever they're at now) as her cat. Maggie as Newt. Principal Skinner as Bishop. You can mix in elements of all the Alien movies (except the terrible AVP films) for this one. The Alien franchise is just begging to be spoofed by the Simpsons, really. Alien and Aliens served up some of the best sci-fi horror of all time and remains the gold standard for horror films set in space to this day, but it also served up a number of cliches that later films would haplessly duplicate. The ill-prepared crew, space astronauts, one-note marines just there to be cannon fodder... The Simpsons have done space episodes as part of Treehouse of Horror in the past, but they haven't sent up this franchise despite its iconic status. There's no reason not to, especially as the Alien franchise is a Fox property, as is The Simpsons. Plus, with the release of Prometheus not too long ago, and talks of a sequel, and the fact that the original films are still hugely popular, The Simpsons could really hit the mark on this one (especially if they take a moment to poke fun at how badly scripted Prometheus was in comparison to the original films). You want a tagline? "In space, no one can hear you d'oh!"
