7. What Happened To Larkin? - Invasion
The regrettably cancelled sci-fi show was, in my eyes, destined to become the next Lost, as a mysterious race of water-dwelling aliens essentially body-snatched folk to try and slowly replace a sleepy town's residents. In the final episode, when a pregnant Larkin gets shot and is clearly about to die, Tom (William Fichtner) doesn't really have much of an option other than to place her into the water so that the aliens can take her and (hopefully) return her in tact, if also not the same person she used to be. The show ended with Tom standing by the water, with Larkin's partner Russell and Tom's Mariel dumbstruck as to what just happened. It was a perfect cliffhanger to keep us engrossed until Season 2, but alas, it never came to fruition, and we were all left none the wiser.
