10 TV Character Deaths Fans Still Aren't Over
7. Seymour - Futurama
In one of the most upsetting moments in TV history, the writers behind the otherwise upbeat and hilariously bizarre animated comedy Futurama decided to crush the hearts of audiences worldwide.
After finding the fossilised remains of his old dog Seymour, Fry enlisted the help of the Professor to bring his old best friend back to life so they could be reunited. Despite some jealous interference from Bender, things seemed ready to go ahead as planned, and throughout the episode fans were treated to a series of flashbacks showing just how strong Fry and Seymour's relationship was.
But then, in a cruel twist of fate, Fry learned that Seymour lived for twelve years after Fry last saw him, and assumed that the dog lived a long and happy life without him. With that, they abandoned the plan, and Fry walked off content that Seymour found peace without him.
The audience then learn in a striking and haunting montage that this was not the case, and that Seymour spent the last twelve years of his life waiting for Fry to return to him, before dying peacefully in his sleep.
I'm not crying - you are...
