10 TV Character Deaths Fans Still Aren't Over

6. Cersei & Jaime Lannister - Game Of Thrones

Now, it's not fair to kick a person whilst they're down, but I think we can all agree that the final season of Game of Thrones was less than great. Sure, there were some epic battle scenes and visual effects, but all told the fantasy drama's eighth season was one massively let down by its rushed pace and painfully inexplicable character assassinations.

Though the likes of Dany and the Night King suffer lackluster-at-best demises, perhaps no two characters were more narratively betrayed than siblings/lovers Cersei and Jaime Lannister.

Over the last few seasons, Cersei had grown into the show's most formidable antagonist, a tough, manipulative force of nature who ruled with an iron fist and possessed few redeeming qualities. Likewise, Jaime went through his own changes, shedding his previous arrogance and showing off how good a man he could be at times.

It came as a sickening shock, then, when Cersei was portrayed in her final moments as a tragic victim of Dany's newfound madness, and Jaime went running back to her because...reasons?

All their character development thrown out the window, the pair died under the Red Keep in each other's arms, the main victims of Game of Thrones' terrible final stretch.
