1. Sansa Stark - Game Of Thrones
This is the second character from Game of Thrones to feature on this list, but for very different reasons. While Ser Barristan Selmy fell out of memory for a full season, Sansa Stark was forgotten about within the walls of a single episode.
The key to this was the Battle of the Bastards. This was something that had been built up to and anticipated for years, and it did not disappoint. The coming together of the forces of the North, and the Boltons of Winterfell was really always only about Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton.
In a way, that was where the battle would have been lost. Jon didn't know Ramsay, and paid no attention to Sansa, who knew the Bastard of Bolton's mind inside and out. She pleaded with her half-brother to wait until they had a greater force, but after a heated argument, the battle commenced the next day with Sansa nowhere to be seen.
The fight itself is without question one of the greatest set pieces in the history of a show rich with great set pieces. Anything that happened before Rickon's death was forgotten about, including Sansa and her whereabouts. She then appeared on the horizon like Gandalf the Grey, with Littlefinger at her side, and the army of the Vale at her back to save the day. Goosebumps doesn't begin to cover it.
