3. Caitlin - Heroes
The second season of Heroes was notoriously a complete mess thanks to the Writer's Guild of America Strike. One character that was completely screwed over by it was Katie Carr's Caitlin.
Caitlin met an amnesiac Peter Petrelli in Ireland and the two started a relationship. However, Peter still couldn't control his powers and inadvertently time-travelled them both a year into the future.
They found themselves in a nearly abandoned New York City, in a timeline where a virus had wiped out most of the world's population. They were both captured by CDC agents and Caitlin was sent to be deported back to Ireland. Before he could save her, Peter accidentally travelled back to the present.
To further complicate matters, he then helped stop the release of the virus so the future his girlfriend was stuck in no longer even exists.
The original plan for the show was that the virus would be released at the end of the first half of the season. The second half would have involved the heroes trying to stop it spreading and also saving Caitlin. Unfortunately, the strike meant that the season was shortened to 11 episodes and Caitlin's plot was never resolved or even mentioned again.
What (Probably) Happened To Her: The depressing answer is that she was most likely wiped from existence along with the future she was in.
