10 TV Characters You Forgot Were Recast
6. Lily Tucker-Pritchett - Modern Family
Adorable Lily Tucker-Pritchett was definitely one of the MVPs of Modern Family. As a baby she was the cutest member of the Tucker-Pritchett-Dunphy clan, when she grew to toddler status, Lily pulled out all the stops to ridicule and sass the older generations. And then, as she grew up to a preteen, her stoic attitude and odd nature became a running gag on the show.
But one thing about Lily that you probably forgot, was that for the first 2 seasons she was played by an entirely different actress than the Lily we all know and love; actually, TWO different actresses. Because before the incredible Aubrey Anderson-Emmons turned Lily into the legend she was, twins Ella and Jaden Hiller portrayed baby Lily.
It's not an unusual occurrence for Hollywood to cast twins in a single role when it comes to children, due to the long hours and demanding workload. What is unusual is the decision to recast the role and give it to a single actress, and for that actress to last for the rest of the show's run.
After all, Anderson-Emmons was only 4 years old when she snagged the role, and proceeded to grow up on the show.
