10 TV Deaths That Totally Trolled Audiences

5. Glenn Rhee - The Walking Dead

A lot of people have died on The Walking Dead, which isn't a surprise given that it's the premise of the show. The dead walk the Earth, chomping on the living, who then become the walking dead, and so on as the cycle continues. Of course, the real threat on the series isn't the dead;it's the living.

That was made painfully obvious with the introduction of Negan, the enigmatic leader of the Saviors, who showed up with a bat named Lucille, and the promise to bash in the head of someone from Rick's group. Anyone who read the comics knew Glenn was the target, but that's not exactly how things went down.

Glenn was nearly killed several times in the previous seasons, and that alone was a malevolent level of trolling on the fans, but the arrival of Negan came via a cliffhanger season finale, which left the audience arguing online about who would take a bat to the face, and it went on for months.

When the show finally returned, Negan didn't kill Glenn; he bashed in Abraham's head instead. The show pulled the ole' switcharoo, and just when it seemed like Glenn was safe, Daryl sucker-punched him, and he responded by smashing Glenn's head in, just like everyone initially expected him to do.
