10 TV Deaths That Totally Trolled Audiences

6. Christopher Moltisanti - The Sopranos

Family Guy Brian Death
HBO

The Sopranos had a long streak of proving few people were safe from being whacked, but there were always some characters who were arguably safe. Tony and his family were good to go to the end of the series, and most people thought that included Christopher, his protégé and heir apparent.

Tony raised the boy after his father met an *ahem* untimely end, and he loved the young man. Unfortunately, Christopher didn't grow up to be everything his uncle hoped he would be, and severe problems with drugs and alcohol made him more of a liability than an asset to the organization.

Christopher's death was a great troll because it was the most unexpected to happen throughout the entire series. Tony was fed up with Christopher, but he kept giving him chances to redeem himself. After all, he loved the kid, and he was going to see him through his problems to the very end... right?

Nope! When the two get into a serious car accident while Christopher was driving, both men are injured. Christopher was hurt worse than Tony, and after he got out of the car to see how his nephew was doing, he did the unthinkable. Seeing that Christopher was badly hurt, and he begged Tony to pull him out of the driver's seat, so he wouldn't lose his license.

All this managed to do was piss Tony off, but he picked up his phone and began dialing '9-1-...' but before he finishes, he puts his hand over Christopher's mouth and nose, and suffocates him to death. He then finishes dialing and reports a terrible accident with an air of relief that his troubles concerning Christopher were finally at an end.
