10 TV Deleted Scenes That Would Have Improved Their Shows

5. Jenny's Extended Farewell - Doctor Who

Lori The Walking Dead
BBC Studios

One of the saddest moments of David Tennant's TARDIS tenure came in Season 4 when his sort-of daughter Jenny found herself on the receiving end of a bullet that was meant for her father. In a depressing turn of events, she dies in his arms.

This scene was already traumatic enough, made all the more tragic by the fact the Doctor had only recently accepted Jenny as his own, but the longer version included on the DVD release is even harder to sit through without welling up.

Before the show's editors had their way with the footage, Jenny took much longer to die from that gunshot wound, and during her extended demise, the two characters poignantly reflected on the life they could have enjoyed together.

Although the Doctor's daughter eventually returned to life and disappeared into the cosmos, thus slightly undermining this whole sequence, leaving this scene intact would have made the episode even more powerful and harrowing.
