The central conceit at the heart of the revived series of Battlestar Galactica is the fight between the human race and the Cylons.

Cylons are a group of cyborgs with the sole mission of wiping out humanity once and for all. Just wait a few years, guys, we'll take care of that ourselves.

One of the mechanical creatures' most helpful traits is that they can disguise themselves as humans, leading to plenty of astonishing reveals across the series. None are quite so shocking as the multiple that take place in the two-part Season 3 finale Crossroads.

At this point, there are only a handful of Cylons left, nicknamed "The Final Five." Rather than spread out their unmaskings across the next season, the show just up and revealed them all at once!

If this wasn't shocking enough, then the identities of the Final Five had everyone fooled. Nobody saw this big twist coming and nobody knew what was going to happen next.

So often TV shows build up to a big secret and then seriously let people down with the truth. Not Battlestar Galactica though - this reveal only made things more interesting as the show's final season came into view.
