10 TV Finales That Made You Embarrassed You Ever Cared

9. Smallville - Finale

Lost Finale Jack Locke
The CW

A televised series that dives into the teenage (and eventual younger years) of Superman is such a golden premise, it’s a wonder that the show wasn’t as well remembered.

But like most American shows, the Superman origin story went on far longer than it should have and evolved into a mock-Superman saga with Justice League heroes themselves spread throughout.

The one thing fans wanted to see was for young and impressionable Clark Kent to finally wear the blue, red and yellow suit of Superman and thus begin his story as the big hero we know and love.

But alas, despite all the teasing and minor interpretations fans never got quite what they wanted and in the final episode of the series, all the big villains from Superman’s roster have either already made their debut or died, and in the final scene fans finally get a brief glimpse of the suit.

The embarrassment comes from the fact that fans signed up to watch the show to eventually see Superman in his true form. Flying, invulnerable, strong and fast; all of that melded into one.

Ten years of commitment, only to be cheated once again just makes you want to rethink getting invested in a show again.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
