10 TV Finales That Made You Embarrassed You Ever Cared

7. The Killing - Eden

Lost Finale Jack Locke
Netflix

The American adaptation of the Danish crime drama should have been met with a greater reception; an intricate murder case drew audiences in for two seasons, and once that case was closed viewers were treated to two more seasons of equal suspense.

The shorter and less memorable fourth season saw Detectives Holder and Linden investigate the mass murder of an army cadet's family, all the while covering their tracks for the murder of corrupt cop (and serial killer) James Skinner. The latter part of this description is what audience members were drawn to; as guilt and deceit ran ripe with the two lead detectives.

In the show's finale, 'Eden', the case of the family murders is closed and Linden confesses to the murder of Detective Skinner. What would have been an interesting, twisted end to the series is tripped up when the surprise return a of a character from two seasons ago appears to silence the truth- for no reason whatsoever!

This turn of events wasn't foreshadowed in the slightest, and to have Mayor Richmond appear out of nowhere to save Linden- a cop he doesn't care about, felt like the writers were forced to write a happy ending with no context whatsoever.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
