10 TV Mistakes You Can’t Unsee

Friends has never been too hot with its continuity, as we noted before when we roasted the show for its use of some, er, questionable body doubles—just check out our run down of shoddy body doubles for an Elliot Gould stand-in who looks more like Eugene Levy. Hell, the show even wrote in one of the actor’s mistakes as an iconic moment, when David Schwimmer accidentally called his fictional fiancée Emily “Rachel” and inspired the wedding day bombshell dropped by his character Ross.

But this mistake is particularly galling given that it comes during not only an iconic bit of physical comedy, but it’s unmistakeably centred around the actor you’re meant to be watching. When Phoebe takes Rachel running in the very public environs of Central Park only for her goofy gait to put her long-suffering friend off being seen with her, the joke is meant to leave us laughing at Lisa Kudrow’s ungainly sprint.

But a close look reveals that viewers can clearly see a large, unmissable microphone battery pack protruding from the actor’s back—a textbook error which leaves the scene looking even sillier than intended.
