The fact Henry Cavill almost ended his action career in the thick of filming his second outing as Geralt of Rivia for Netflix's The Witcher series may actually have played into his decision to quit while he's ahead.

Jumping back to December 2020, the leading man was reportedly injured in the middle of shooting a sequence involving an assault course, with it being said that the star was "clearly in a lot of pain".

Later down the road, though, it was reported that Cavill actually tore his hamstring whilst sprinting around in the woods, with Princess Cirilla of Cintra actor Freya Allen being present at the moment of her co-star's sudden pulling up and herself performing a similar sequence to Cavill in the time leading up to his hamstring injury.

Despite being able to push through the pain and complete the second season, however, the British sensation would eventually confess that he was constantly battling with trying to fight through the injury and not going too far to the point where he tore the hamstring even more and potentially ended his action career altogether.

Classing it as his "worst moment of the past year - professionally" back in 2021, it was probably a wise call to leave the Witching to Liam Hemsworth going forward after all.
