10 TV Scenes You Didn't Realise Were Tricking You

6. Julia Garner Needed A Double To Pick Up A Mouse - Ozark

Stranger Things
Netflix

It's no secret that body doubles are regularly employed to execute certain moments deemed either too dangerous for an actor to perform or just damn uncomfortable for the thespian in question.

Finding herself in the latter of those camps during a scene going down in Netflix's unexpectedly outstanding crime drama Ozark, the idea of having to lay her hands on a mouse in a scene involving her Ruth Langmore electrocuting one of these rodents left Julia Garner in a tough spot.

Even the concept of using a toy mouse was enough to leave the star not being able to breathe, with Garner admitting to W Magazine:

“It was so embarrassing, and I couldn’t even lift (the mouse)... So they ended up having a hand double. I couldn’t do it — I couldn’t even use the toy one… I realized I couldn’t breathe.”

Some stars aren't in a rush to do their own stunts. Others would rather be anywhere than on a set with a rodent submerged in water. So, it's safe to assume we won't be seeing Garner starring in a live-action Ratatouille remake any time soon.
