10 TV Scenes You'll Never See

9. Chris & Paulie Kill Valery - The Sopranos

One of the most memorable episodes of The Sopranos is season three's "Pine Barrens," which focuses primarily on Chris (Michael Imperioli) and Paulie (Tony Sirico) attempting to dispose of a Russian man, Valery (Vitali Baganov), who turns out to be a trained commando.

Hilariously, Valery manages to escape and leave the pair stranded in New Jersey's Pine Barrens, though given that Paulie may or may not have landed a shot on Valery, his ambiguous fate has fascinated Sopranos fans for over 20 years.

However, in a 2007 interview with The New Yorker, Tony Sirico revealed that the show's creator, David Chase, did intend to return to this storyline in the show's sixth and final season.

Chase wrote a scene where Chris and Paulie chance upon Valery outside a bar and promptly shoot him to death, though Chase ended up cutting it. And given that it doesn't appear to have even been filmed, there's literally zero chance of fans ever getting to see it.

As for why Chase cut it? In Sirico's own words:

"I think David didn't like it. He wanted the audience just to suffer."
