10 TV Shows To Fill That Game Of Thrones Shaped Void
9. Dexter
Have you ever wondered what goes through a serial killer's head? Well with Showtime's Dexter you no longer have to. Blood splatter analyst Dexter Morgan solves crimes by day, and commits them by night. Being adopted by a policeman after his parents bloody murder, Dexter Morgan has always had an urge to kill. Luckily for the rest of Miami though, Dexter's adopted dad had taught him to channel these urges against the city's criminal underworld... and with mostly successful results. The drama comes from Dexter attempting to fight his dark desires, and from his colleagues getting closer and closer to discovering his murderous secrets. The series is a lot of fun, and while relatively simplistic story wise, soon becomes pretty compulsive watching. A lot of the reason for this comes down to the great cast of rival serial killers Dexter faces off against, producing some of the most memorable showdowns on television. Unfortunately, the cat and mouse premise and formulaic nature of the program start to ware thin after the sixth season, and its hard to recommend seeing it through to the end. Dexter's first four seasons however, are well worth a watch. For those looking for something a little different, and who don't mind a dark sense of humour - Dexter is definitely for you.
