10 TV Shows From The '90s That Totally Overused The Word "Totally"

2. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Original Run: 1997 - 2003 The premise of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was pretty damn ridiculous - a cheerleader who ended up with power enough to combat the forces of darkness, including vampires, demons, warlocks and ghosts? Crazy! But it worked! That said, Buffy liked to throw the word "totally" around almost as much as she liked shoving pointy things into the chests of the undead. The titular heroine made a number of friends at her high school in Sunnydale and they ended up joining her in the good fight - and, frustratingly, they all liked saying "totally" just as much as she did. Like, Totally Examples:Buffy: Zippo. Patrol has been totally uneventful. My kill count's way down. *Willow attempts to educate newcomer Tara* Willow: She means that there's been less bad guy activity. Giles: And we know what that often indicates. Xander: Buffy doesn't make her quota. Bad Slayer! Dawn: Oh, come on, Tara. I am so old enough to do research. Do you really think I'm not mature enough? Tara: I think you're very mature for your age... but you're still only fifteen. Dawn: Right. Fifteen, as in teenager. You know, if you don't let me look at the pictures, I'm gonna learn everything I know about demons on the street. *Tara sighs and gives in* Tara: Knock yourself out. Dawn: Thank you. See? No biggie. I can totally handle it. *Dawn opens the book to the first page* Dawn: That's a weird place for a horn... That's not a horn.
