10 TV Shows From The '90s That Totally Overused The Word "Totally"
3. Beverly Hills, 90210
Original Run: 1990 - 2000 Beverly Hills, 90210 spanned the entirety of the '90s and followed the lives of a group of the kind of teenagers you probably rightfully despised. They lived in the glamorous, star-studded community of Beverly Hills, California. They initially attended the fictitious West Beverly Hills High School and went on to attend the equally fictitious California University after they graduated. Given the nature and settings of the show, the overuse of the world "totally" may be understandable, but can only be described as heinous. There have been several spin-off series from the show, including Melrose Place, Models Inc. and 90210 - all of which flaunted equally irritating muppets as their casts. Like, Totally Examples:Nat: You know, the improvement from one week to the next is remarkable. Brandon: Oh, yeah. The kids are showing a lot of promise. Dylan: But, we still need a pitcher that can put the ball over the plate. Nat: Yeah, but win or lose, the most important thing is how good the kids feel about themselves. Brandon: Absolutely. Nat: Totally. Dylan: Yeah, I mean, in the long run, that's all that counts. Brandon: Absolutely. Nat: Totally. Bobby: So, it doesn't seem like your brain's been totally fried by the sun out here. Brandon: Well, what'd you expect? Bobby: Well, I thought that every other word would be like, "hey dude, like let's go catch some totally fun, gnarly, radical waves." Notably, there was also an episode called "It's a Totally Happening Life".
