10 TV Shows Just Saved From Cancellation

8. Station 19

Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland isn't quite the empire it used to be at ABC, in part because her focus has shifted to a HUGE overall deal with Netflix, and in part because a lot of the shows simply weren't quite as strong, but the network aren't silly enough to give up on things completely.

While Grey's Anatomy was always coming back and will probably outlive us all, one that looked less certain was Station 19. The Grey's spin-off, which focuses on the men and women at Seattle Fire Station 19, has proved solid enough in the ratings for ABC to give it a third season, albeit with a big behind the scenes change: series creator Stacey McKee has left, and Grey's showrunner Krista Vernoff has been brought aboard to try and revitalise the series.

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
