10 TV Shows Just Saved From Cancellation

4. Fresh Off The Boat

If your TV show is on the bubble, and then the network decides to actually bring it back, you might think that's a good thing - but apparently it isn't always the case.

When ABC announced they were renewing Fresh Off The Boat for Season 4, it made headlines not because of that call, but because of the reaction from star Constance Wu, who wrote on Twitter: "So upset right now that I’m literally crying. Ugh. F–k.” Another tweet simply read: “F–king hell.”

Wu has since apologised for the outburst and reiterated she's grateful for the show, but that she had to turn down another opportunity because of it. The renewal was clearly a surprise to her, which is fair since it'd lost 40% of viewers in the 18-49 demo. The sitcom is entering its sixth season, so it's fair to say that it getting a little stale, and unless the controversy generates a sudden spike in interest, it might be the Wu gets to leave the show next year instead.
