10 TV Shows That Aired Their Worst Ever Episode In 2015

2. The Western Book Of The Dead - True Detective

Original Air Date: June 21, 2015 The entirety of True Detective's second season was totally ridiculous from start to finish, but the first episode of Nic Pizzolatto's difficult second album - The Western Book of the Dead - is truly the worst episode of the show to have aired. Expectations were high for season two, of course, given the success of the Matthew McConaughey/Woody Harrelson season a year previously. But from the very start of season two, things seemed wrong. Really wrong. Not only did The Western Book of the Dead mark True Detective as the most pretentious and self-conscious show on television, it was plainly boring from start to finish - not to mention it felt like a parody of "ooh, brooding." For an hour, audiences sat and tried to figure out what the hell was going on for the sum of this episode, as Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch were drawn together after the murder of a high-ranking city planner. The whole episode was a blur of strange words and bizarre plot revelations - not to mention the bizarre, laughable lines. Things got a bit better later on in the series, but this was a seriously naff episode of TV.
