10 TV Shows That Are Somehow 10 Years Old

10. American Dad

Seth McFarlane's second-most popular animated series debuted on February 6th, 2005. 15 million tuned in for the first episode of American Dad which aired after the Super Bowl - not a record high for such a prestige viewing slot but certainly nothing to be sniffed at when you consider prime-time adult animation was still transitioning from cult into mainstream. Some Family Guy fans warmed to it straight away while others took a while to adjust to the show's more story-driven episodes, a less gag-driven style, a live-in alien and a talking German fish. In 2014 Fox opted not to renew the adventures of CIA agent Stan Smith and co. beyond season ten but did air three episodes later that year which served as a very short series eleven, Sherlock style. Ted Turner's cable network TBS (which shows reruns of comedy favourites Family Guy, Seinfeld and the Big Bang Theory) picked up American Dad for a twelfth series and have recently committed to producing the show until 2018. American Dad on a hard roll.
