10 TV Shows That Came Back From Cancellation

1. Twin Peaks

It simply cannot be adequately put into words just how incredible and influential Twin Peaks was. Flawlessly combining multiple genres and captivating viewers with its superb blend of surrealism, mystery, action and humour, it has gone down in history as one of the best TV shows of all time. Created by Mark Frost and David Lynch, the show follows an FBI investigation into the murder of homecoming queen, Laura Palmer. Headed by Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLaughlan), the investigation soon raises more questions than answers, as we delve into the lives and the secrets of the residents of Twin Peaks. Initially a huge success, ratings started to decline during the first season, which resulted in ABC insisting that the killer be revealed midway through the 2nd season. Subsequent story lines were more obscure and drawn out. Without the draw of the original mystery, interest in the show began to wane and it was never renewed for a 3rd season. Not until 25 years later, anyway. It was recently confirmed that the show will return for a new 9-episode series with David Lynch returning as directer and co-writer. Despite the obvious reservations fans have about whether it could possibly ever live up to the original, the creators seem confident that they can make it just as good as it was. We'll find out in 2016.
