10 TV Shows That Came Back From Cancellation

7. The Killing

After the huge success of the Danish series, an American version of the show soon went into production. For some strange reason foreign TV just isn't palatable in America. The result was a reasonably good crime drama airing on AMC that, although not as good as the Danish original, still received good ratings and reviews. However, after a dip in ratings for season 2, AMC announced they wouldn't be renewing the show for a 3rd season. The production company tried to sell the show to other networks and after Netflix got involved, AMC decided they were interested again. The final deal had them broadcasting the 3rd season episodes before they appeared on Netflix. After the 3rd season, AMC once again decided to cancel The Killing, at which point Netflix picked it up for a 4th and final 6-episode season.
