10 TV Shows That Came Back From Cancellation

4. Diff'rent Strokes

"Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?" Right, now that's out of the way let's talk about a TV show that won the hearts of a generation. And provided much amusement to the next, through various and often brutal parodies. The series starred Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges as Arnold and Willis Jackson, with the premise being that two African American orphans from Harlem are taken in by a rich white widower from Park Avenue. Oh, how the hilarity ensued. The show was huge and ran successfully for 6 seasons before the ratings started to slip. This was around the same time the actress playing their sweet adoptive sister was fired for getting pregnant and for her publicised dalliances with drugs. In 1985, NBC cancelled the show, but it was later picked up by ABC for an 8th season. However, it was cancelled again after 19 episodes. But don't worry. We're sure the cast lived happily ever after. Oh, wait....
