10 TV Shows That Cruelly Teased What We Really Wanted To See

7. Billy Being The Big Brother We Always Wanted Him To Be - Stranger Things

Throughout the second and third season of Stranger Things, Billy Hargrove was a largely complex character to behold. One minute he'd leave you scolding the screen on the back of his regularly arrogant behaviour, the next he had you sympathising with him upon discovering he was a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of his father.

However, the one things fans simply couldn't forgive him for was his consistently crappy attitude towards his step-sister Max. With his character becoming possessed by the Mind Flayer in Season Three, though, Billy ultimately finds himself going up against Max, Eleven and the gang as the season reaches its climax.

It's here, in the Starcourt Mall, where El manages to eventually free Billy from the Mind Flayer's grasps, leading to a moment fans of the show had been angling for since he was first introduced.

Instead of being an absolute prick, Billy defends his step-sister and her pals from a big bad Spider Monster, sacrificing himself in the process. We then experience the bitter-sweet moment of Billy apologising to Max for his actions, devastatingly giving us a fleeting glimpse of the good in him we'd been wanting to see for so long.
