10 TV Shows That Deserve Feature Films

9. Family Guy

Game of Thrones movie
Fox

The Premise: Bumbling, borderline Petarded, but well meaning (sometimes) American Dad (sorry, wrong show!) Peter Griffin, his dog/best friend Brian, out of his league wife Lois, son Chris, loser daughter Meg, and genius infant Stewie make up the most dysfunctional family this side of the Bundy family, in the longest running animated Fox series not named The Simpsons.

Why It Deserves The Feature Film Treatment: Family Guy? On the big screen? Shut up, Meg!

Wait, actually, that could actually be a good idea. See, Family Guy, like South Park and The Simpsons before it, needs a trip to the big screen simply because it has done just about everything it can on the small one. It has pushed the limits of network TV. It has done the Blue Harvest series of Star Wars spoofs, it did the TV movie thing with Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story (which was really just an overly long episode).

Realistically, the show has grown stale on television the last few seasons, but a big screen outing, allowing for a larger story to be told, could actually make it funny again - if it's the right story. Creator Seth MacFarlane has proven, with Ted and A Million Ways To Die In The West, that he can handle feature length comedy, so hey - bring it on.
