Comedy Central's long-running educational comedy was dealt an unexpected blow when it was announced that the show - which was already into production of its seventh season prior to the Hollywood shutdown - had been cancelled.
The series showcases Derek Waters and a host of celebrity guests as they attempt to drunkenly recount history, and it has proven to be rather popular for the network (hence the longevity), so this really was an unexpected turn of events - especially when you consider that it had its new season offer rescinded when it was already in production.
Certainly not something you hear everyday but rumor has it that everything happening right now gave the-powers-that-be at Comedy Central a chance to rethink their programming direction. And wherever they're headed now, Drunk History unfortunately won't be a part of that journey. And it's not the only show missing out...
