10 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled
4. Man Vs. Bee
Netflix's Rowan Atkinson-starring comedy series Man vs. Bee basically felt like a movie that had been chunked up into 10-15 minute episodes as a strange experiment.
While the show - focused on a man (Atkinson) fighting a bee while house-sitting for a wealthy couple - ended with a potential setup for another season, this truly felt like all its comedic mileage had been milked in a single season.
All the same, ratings talk, and given the show's solid viewing figures, it would've shocked nobody if Netflix brought it back for more.
In recent weeks, however, it was reported that Netflix decided not to proceed with a second season, suggesting that the viewing figures likely didn't offer the return they expected to commission another batch of episodes.
At least Man vs. Bee is absolutely fine as a one-off, single-volume series, and there's likely to be few truly heartbroken that it won't be back for more.
Not every series needs to be milked to death, and it's easy to appreciate how quickly the law of diminishing returns would've set in with this format.
