2. Westworld

It's been a long wait to get Westworld back on TV screens. HBO's surprise sci-fi hit seemingly came out of nowhere in 2016, with its twisty, mysterious plot showing streamers the power a weekly TV show can still hold. Though Season 2 dipped in quality a touch, the third season was promised to be a return to form and, more importantly, worth the wait, with fan favourite actors like Aaron Paul joining the cast.

Sadly, while there were parts of the show's return to like, Westworld Season 3 didn't quite capture the same cultural wave that it did when it first launched. The critical consensus was mixed, especially concerning the final episodes, and while not a huge drop, the ratings also weren't quite as high as the previous two runs.

Still, with the finale promising so much more story left to be told, HBO confirmed that Westworld would be coming back for a fourth run, presumably in 2022. Though the last season wasn't amazing, there is still plenty of potential there, and a return to form could cement this as one of the most vital series currently on the air.
