10 TV Shows That Should’ve Been Awesome (But Utterly Failed)

4. Tru Calling

Rsz 1rsz 110213 211914 Trupct20callingpct20fotopct20erbij Riding the wave of success from her stint as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Eliza Dushku's next offering Tru Calling should have been a runaway success. The premise was unusual and promising €“ a morgue worker discovers that she can speak to dead people, and then goes back in time to the day before and must save them from an untimely demise. It may not be perfect but it's no worse than, say, Ghost Whisperer, and surely Eliza Dushku in a tank top is pretty certain to save most things? Alas, this was not the case. The first few episodes were enjoyable enough, but then the show fell into a formulaic and ultimately uninteresting gutter where the writer's best efforts for a backstory couldn't pull it free. It does seem like there was potential for the plot to come, if what was hinted at in one of the writers' Live Journal were to come true. Yet clearly this was not enough, and Tru Calling was abruptly cancelled mid-season.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
