10 TV Shows That Switched Main Characters
9. Narcos
In one of Netflix's earliest original series, Narcos follows Colombian druglord as he murdered his way to the top of South America's cocaine trade. Season 1 begins in the late '70s, when Escobar first began manufacturing the drug, which quickly garnered the attention of both the Colombian military and the USA's Drug Enforcement Administration.
Hunted by DEA Agent Steve Murphy, Escobar expands his business and even begins exporting cocaine to Miami before his capture and imprisonment, with season 1 ending with his escape from captivity.
The series goes on to depict just how much of a frightening presence Pablo Escobar truly became in Colombia - soldiers even refused to arrest him after his escape - as Escobar ascends to a strange godhood in his hometown of Medellin. Escobar began pumping money into the community, creating new housing and football fields and was even alleged to have funded some children's football teams.
Raking in an exorbitant $70 million a day, Pablo Escobar's time was limited. He was eventually tracked down and killed by the Colombian military and the DEA, and season 3 of Narcos would go on to show the DEA's war against an entirely different cartel.
The show is now set to reboot entirely, being dubbed Narcos: Mexico, just going to show that some main character switches spell the end.
