10 TV Shows That Were Infuriatingly Cancelled In 2021
3. The Twilight Zone
Look, the Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg-fronted Twilight Zone revival clearly wasn't the home-run that fans hoped it would be, but its second season - released in June 2020 - felt like it took heed of the first season's pitfalls, and suggested a third volume might improve further still.
Last February, however, the show was cancelled, though surprisingly enough it wasn't CBS/Paramount+ that initiated the cancellation due to the show's large budget and expectedly middling viewing figures.
Rather, both Peele and Kinberg's production companies decided to depart despite CBS/Paramount actually hoping they would commit to more episodes.
Given that this was the third revival of the legendary mystery anthology series, however, it's probably fair to assume that Paramount will end up rebooting it yet again within the next decade.
And at least streaming isn't leaving fans of thriller anthologies wanting for content, what with Black Mirror, Electric Dreams, Inside No. 9, and so on filling the off-kilter void.
