10 TV Shows That Were Spoiled By Romantic Couples

True Blood, the often times unnecessarily graphic television series, was based on the series of books entitled The Southern Vampire Mysteries or the Sookie Stackhouse Series, depending on who you ask. Both the books and their television adaptation started off being centered around the waitress Sookie and a vampire named Bill Compton shortly after the existence of vampires is made public.

In real life, stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have gone on to get married and have children. And that's sincerely wonderful. But their off-screen chemistry just didn't seem to translate the same way on-screen.

The relationship between Bill and Sookie, though it began interesting, quickly got boring and it became somewhat of a chore to sit though. Throughout the series, the writers kept coming back to the romance between them, even though the series seemed to truck on just fine when they were separated or just friends. Instead of enjoying much of an episode, fans could be left to feel like they had to labor through it.

True Blood's popularity seemed to really take off around the time in the storyline that things started brewing between Sookie and former Viking-turned-vampire sheriff Eric. It's probably not a coincidence.

I like to think I'm a clever person, but apparently I'm not clever enough to come up with a witty biography.
